It wasn't brilliant. But it was awesome. And you can't possibly believe he was writing in the end. Are you a mental defective? It's called publishing backlogs. Did you think his last book was written beyond the grave? This is the level of intelligence I'd expect from someone who writes with a straight face: insurmountable onslaught of modernity. Lol & lmao & kindly kys.

>Tried answering the first question yesterday, Yeah I saw that. Did you, like, look at the book and come up with anything?

The postcard was real. It had the reference to the Ouija board day that only Doc, Shasta n Sortilège would have known about.

Doc saw Shasta on the boat when he was on the acid trip.

>Wouldn’t be surprised if there was no real answer
I'd expect some coherence for question 1. Maybe 2 was meant to disorient, esp since Doc isn't sure if the encounter with Shasta at the bar (where she doesn't know about the postcard)... he's not sure if that actually happened or if it was her...

I had the manuscript of my first novel, Omensetter’s Luck, stolen from me, and the same thief purloined an essay of mine on Katherine Anne, which he changed scarcely at all, and published under his name (Edward Greenfield Schwartz) in the Southwest Quarterly Review. He also swiped someone else’s essay on Nathanael West. Alas, with her name, I still associate this professional plagiarizer.

I'm trying to find the rest of the story... forgot which book it's in...
