The instore cafe at Elliot Bay Books really doesn't help with the non-reader infestation, but it's just the nature of living in this heap of a city.
My favorite in the state's got to be Banana Books in Long Beach, Washington. A sweet older couple opened it up with their retirement funds and live out of the attic. I gave them good business and in return the woman who manned the counter would sell me boxes of unsellable surplus stock (too beaten up, at risk of falling to pieces) for $10 a crate.
