So, I finished this a couple months ago, and read South of the Border and a couple of his short stories for school And I'm trying to figure out what to read next. I've decided that I do prefer his more batshit insane works like Wind-up Bird, and I have a copy of 1Q84 I haven't read at all yet, firstly because 1) FUCK I don't know if I want to read something that huge right now, and 2) All the criticism I hear about it. Is it really that bad? Why?

This is my first experience with Murakami, and I am absolutely entranced! I'm not quite finished yet, though...

Opinions? Recommendations for my next Murakami? I was thinking "Sputnik Sweetheart" or "Kafka on the Shore"...
