Ik this is bait but leftist lit IS superior. just look at the canon dummy. and it's not just literature but arts/creative fields in general. if you believe otherwise you're coping hard.

Holy shit anon, people with strong emotionally charged beliefs are unresponsive to reason and also anonymous badly moderated imageboards are not conducive to quality discussion, these are revolutionary discoveries you have made and I'm glad you shared them with us.

I have heard bad things about Mieville but she is highly recommended all over the board, even in this thread. I figured I would start with Kraken and see if I liked it before moving deeper into it. I don't mind Luceno and have read him before, and Gaiman, like Mieville is highly recommended all over the place so I figured I would try. I am probably going with Roadside Picnic though since two of you have recommended it and I really fucking love STALKER

Just a quick question /lit/, so I'm doing The Wasp Factory as one of two books for my coursework studying the theme of violence and how it is portrayed in them. (the other book being American Psycho) If you haven't read The Wasp Factory, then read the spoilers at your own risk.

Should I refer to Frank Cauldhame as 'he' or 'she'? Inb4 >>>/lgbt/, not trying to start a privilege war here, just not sure what to reference the character as in my essay since he's portrayed as male up until the end of the book, by then the book is pretty much over anyway and the information is (debatably) somewhat irrelevant. To the theme of violence, at the very least.

Seems trivial I know, but details, details. Examiners are finnicky cunts.
