There's an entire genre of apocalyptic Christian fiction. Call these novels evangelical eschatologicals if you like: Left Behind is just one of hundreds of end-times cinematic universes. They're basically adventure fiction.

I read some of these novels decades ago, but never the LB series itself. I assume it's the best out of the lot because it got so popular it rose to become the basis of a revivalist movement.

Ultimately all this stuff comes out of the Scofield heresies and everyone who writes and publishes this garbage should be burned at the stake.
