I just realized that I did not read that much. Reading was not an emphasis throughout my upbringing. I did not have the joyous memories of reading Robinson Crusoe, Pinocchio, Andersen's tales,...The sough-after novelty of adventure and mystery stories did not make an appearance at all back in my formative years. I grew up consuming other mediums: blockbuster films, young adults literature, commercial tv shows,...and though there were some exceptions to their overall shallowness, it was rather an unfulfilled and dull experience.
I do not want to blame society for this backwards development. Some things were meant to be maintain order for the system and we ourselves are partly responsible for obeying blindly.
So, read more while you still can, fellas. Life is a short ride and you should take the wheel.
