What is the goal of economics?

Is he still worth reading, not from economical viewpoint but more historical/philosophical?

I've been watching a lot of "breadtube" lately and I am starting to become more and more sympathetic to the anarchist cause. They put forward a pretty well thought out argument as to why liberalism cannot make economic freedom and democratic liberties work simultaneously. Are there any good resources that disprove this idea ?
