>Does it feed into the fantasy that white women were an oppressed class on par with African Americans?
No, it feeds into the sex fantasy of being loved by a man who makes them feel safe at night and dominates the shit out of them. The object of these books is so that unlovable women can masturbate.

No, because analytic philosophers left all that shit in the 40's where it should stay. Continentals are fundamentally authoritarian if you weren't clued in already, the logical extent of discussing culture in philosophy is demanding that the culture changes to conform to the philosophical model. It's just radicalism in respectable clothing.

>Enlightenment rationality meme
What if I told you that your concept of reason is a superstition that you have been taught in school because you live in a country that has been influenced by revolutionary thinking that is now basically ancient history?

No, take Hume's position; at least Hume is sensible when he says that "reason ought to be nothing more than a slave to the passions." If you are a physicalist, don't you find it weird to assert the preeminence of rationality, yet know that your brain is just a meal-ticket for an animal that didn't evolve sharp claws or teeth? As common as it is for people to idolize things that are useful to them, it is entirely discreditable philosophically to treat the good things of God as ends in themselves.
