I've reached the conclusion that I don't have a moral compass. The only reason I've still been behaving close to what I'd define as a "good person" is because I've been sold on the concept of virtue and it's been my only beacon of light to guide me towards meaning in the otherwise endless void of nihilism. I don't feel bad about any of it though, for the first time in my life it's as if I'm not wallowing in misery and masturbation, I actually have a direction and I'm moving forward. I'm 21 years old and for the first time I can remember, I know what 'content' feels like, and maybe one day I can shoot for 'happy'.

Hard to say. Maybe the complete collection of Flannery O'Connor stories, but if it has to be a novel I'd say either Invisible Man by Ellison or Portrait by Joyce.

Caffeine, but if that's a copout, then alcohol. Caffeine is great, increases productivity and focus, I love the taste and smell of coffee, helps push things through the digestive tract, relatively very mild withdrawal (after like 3-5 days without coffee there's nothing, and the only time I actually feel impeded at all instead of just having a noteworthy fatigue is the first day.) I love alcohol for the variety, prefer bourbon, gin, and stout beers, and mostly for how much it helps me socialize. I'm pretty solid in almost all social situations, by shy sperg standards at least, but when I'm a bit drunk is the only time I really feel like I can hit on girls which is obviously a big draw. Downsides are the high potential for addiction that would in even a better case scenario where I dont die of liver failure I would lose a big pleasure and my social lubricant. Also can cause embarassing situations.

I like to read poetry just a little drunk. Reading Leaves of Grass before a party or a date while a little buzzed is a great feeling. Any more than that and reading is no fun and you dont retain anything.
