>Law 2: keep enemies around as potential allies, they will show you immense gratitude if you show them mercy

>Law 15: destroy your enemy completely, they will only come to resent you if you show them mercy

Wow what a great book

I've started reading this book, my very first of this kind. What do you think about it /lit?

I mean this in the least edgy way possible.

>If you learn how to do such things by reading books, then why is it not documented?
Pic related (fer book learnin').

And it's not from reading the book, it's from practicing the things described in said book, and for more than 15 minutes a day. Single pointed concentration takes an incredible amount of work.

You can't build a rocket from reading a book on how a to do it; you still have to do it. You can become a mystic from reading a book, you still have to do it.

I never made the direct claim, I was simply giving examples of what has been reported by others. Not to mention there are plenty of mystics NOT living an ascetic lifestyle, though the metaphorical "journey through the desert" and it's solitude, almost always seems to be a feature of the process....

As for proof of objective validity on the claims of others (windfall, etc.), I'm not one the sort of person to really give a shit about giving proof over the internet, just as I'm not going to give you proof of any other phenomena over the internet. I'm no master, I'm a student. I also don't care if someone believes or not. The library was posted not to convince anyone of any of it, but simply to share some rarer texts with fellow bibliophiles. That said, if you're curious about the practices....just do them. Keep a careful record of what you do and how, and a careful record of results (in any). From there you can run basic statistical testing to see if any practices have a high rate of consistency, be it in delivering expected results or inducing various trance states.

''The 48 Laws of Power are a distillation of 3,000 years of the history of power, drawing on the lives of strategists and historical figures like Niccolò Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, Queen Elizabeth I, Henry Kissinger, and P.T. Barnum. The book is intended to show people how to gain power, preserve it, and defend themselves against power manipulators.''
