Constant Nerdgasms: The Book

Just finished this. Any other books about MMOs? Already read Snow Crash, Reamde and For The Win.

This book was the literary equivalent of browsing through tumblr for an afternoon.

I don't get the hype. Is this supposed to be YA or what? The writing was incredibly pedestrian.

It came out last year and it looks like it targets my brand of vidya appreciation so I would hunt down a 1st edition copy if it gets /lit/'s blessing.

Why can't science fiction writers write realistic female characters? Are they really that neckbeardish? I just finished reading Ready Player One and my enjoyment of the novel was greatly diminished by the silliness of the protagonist's love interest and her contrived, unrealistic relationship with him. I feel like this always happens in science fiction, which really pisses me off. I shouldn't have to read about girls made into either sex objects or made into men in skirts. That is not what we are like. This is the same reason I hate comic books.

Your thoughts on this book, /lit/?

Everyone seems to love it. Does that mean I'm about to read a giant turd of a book?
