I have literally never read a single non-stem book in my 25 years of life and i'm starting to think that it has impacted my ability to think or express myself clearly, is it ever too late ? Where should i start ?

When England was becoming the very first industrial state, they also industrialized their education system, which the model for every other country. All schools were to have similar curriculums, similar textbooks, and marched off to class like their parents to the factories.

One of the things they needed to standardized was english literature. Shakespeare was chosen merely because it could be easily reproduced without licensing because it had no copyright. And there were enough surviving texts.

As generations of people were shuffled off to school, this obscure playwright was introduced to millions. And by the mere fact everyone knows it, it gained prestige. And become a source of reference because everyone would know what you're referencing.

And from this forced meme that is Shakespeare, entire cottage industries sprung up around it. Like pseudo intellectuals.

Shakespeare was McDonalds, mass produced. He made up words for christsakes. No better than Dr. Seuss.

In conclusion, Russia > England.

Any books working out who the enemies of civilization and humanity are?

Sure as hell isn't poor people, or immigrants.

There are pleanty of african jews, crazy orthodox jewd, and rich white Catholics using jews, so capital J jews arent the problem.

Some rich tech billionaires have been coerced into giving donations so laws wouldn't be passed hurting them. So capital R rich people in themselves aren't the problem.

Is it a type of class of people who might not know each other but their very nature is what's causing harm? Or is it a club dating back at least 100yrs, and all the players are known?

Rand tried to claim Aristotle was her only influence and that she magically created the rest herself

She's ignored because she's a moron and a phase teenagers go through. Even the top name libertarians thought she was a clown

>Artistotle only influence
>Rips off Nietzsche and Stirner in sophomoric writings
>Doesn't think maybe there are other intellectuals who have influenced the current paradigm

When I read scifi, any genre, I use a tablet. Makes me feel I'm reading a futuristic mission report.

When I read turn of the century horror or adventure stories, I use a paperback book. Even going so far as to print it out if its an online copy. Makes me feel I'm reading an authentic manuscript.

When I'm reading something modern, any genre, I like to use an audiobook. Feels like I'm being given a first or second hand account.

I like to arrange serial works, like Holmes or Conan, in in universe chronological order. Requires rereadings and note taking.
I plan to do this for serials that only share a universe, which makes it harder. Like Lovecraft.

I've wasted my life with junk. Now I'm only reading books that clearly illustrate a problem within society and how to fix it. So I can put it into practices.
What are some good examples?

It's like saying using your eyes is cheating because braille.

Whether you read via touch, sight, or sound, reading is reading.

>nothing matters
>so why bother fighting/standing up to the powerful and corrupt?

Nihilism is the tool of oppressors.
