I've recently read the Traveler's Gate Trilogy, it was a quick read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd recommend reading until the second book, Deadhouse Gates. If you aren't into the story by then, I'd be surprised. It's the most incredible series I've read, and I continue to think about the story all the time. I subconsciously compare other series I read to MBOTF and nothing seems to compare with how powerful the story is. I know everyone says this, I was tired of hearing it before I read the series myself.
