I dunno, how about social sanctions? Close friends and family actually telling you it's a bad idea to not look for a long-term partner, and instead sleep around until you get pregnant with some guy you found attractive then and there but isn't father material.

I mean, at least part of the reason there are so many single mothers in the West these days is because women have sex with who they find sexually attractive, e.g masculine men with superficial charm who border on the psychopathic, and then act surprised when they run away after she gets pregnant.
