>refute utilitarianism

1. Have goal of reducing human suffering.
2. All humans die, some in horrific and painful manners.
3. Thus, the status quo involves every human dying in a method involving human suffering either for them, or for the people around them.
4. Humans reproduce, perpetuating this suffering.
5. Carpet nuking would near infinitely reduce human suffering.
5a. Instant vaporization would be less painful than many deaths that people experience.
5b. There is no one left alive to mourn, further reducing suffering.
5c. The lack of future generations ensures that suffering ends with this generation.
6. As all humans die, the mass death of humanity creates no immediate suffering, while completely removing suffering that comes after a single death.

As you can see, utilitarianism taken to its fullest extent results in the annihilation of humanity. On smaller scales, this is evident through communist purges and the various genocides throughout history, as it was justified through "the betterment of society."
