philosophy always leads you to face nihilism at one point or another, some solve it by regressing to religion (kierkegaard), some by absurdism (camus), some by plagiarizing voluntary egoism and trying to affirm life by exalting hierarchy while missing the point (nietzsche)
was schopenhauer not a philosopher, were the stoics, the eastern thinkers and every other man who sought voluntary celibacy when they were faced with the realization that material life is meaningless not real philosopher?
yours is a confirmation bias to your already established view that allows you to overcome the fear of death "life has meaning", what you don't realize is that the whole question of meaning of life roots from religion, life is meaningless and religion was made to fill that void and to remedy fear of death at the cost of tithes and control of the masses that weren't ready or willing to accept that all things that are born must die
unask the question of meaning of life, it is meant to lead you to religion, what is the point of hedonism when you will only enslave yourself to your own most basic impulses, any justification you use to indulge in that is just you yourself caving in and adopting your impulses as your own will
what does it mean to be a philosopher is answered by looking at someone like max stirner who broke so free from the system of thought he approached eastern enlightenment tier freedom, how does one do that while managing to keep their ego and to exalt it? figure that out and you'll realize why people stop caring about sex when they become philosophers
some of them do do it to justify their inceldom i'm not denying that, some of them do it because they are stuck on the depressive nihilism state and never resurfaced from the "dark night of the soul", id say philosopher is closer to a zen monk than a flamboyant hedonist who just indulges in their senses and calls it freedom to be a pig who devours until their senses are dulled
