hello /lit/, Italian masterrace here,

Do you think it is worth to read poetry from foreign authors if you can't read it in the original language?
Translating poetry seems almost impossible, how do you keep the same metric, and most of all, all languages did not follow the same "evolution", so 18th century Italian can't just be translate in 18th english/french/russian.
Also, Italian poetry is full of latinism, I don't even know if there is such a thing in english poetry.
