You sound not too dissimilar from “hopebright” Tumblr feminists who think GRRM and Robin Hood are patriarchal or otherwise in poor taste for featuring sexual violence or sexism, which historically happened in medieval Europe (the backdrop for a lot of Fantasy, except with added magical elements). Not even Christian priests in the Middle Ages nor Thomas Malory write like Tolkien, even if Tolkien obviously dealt with Arthurian texts.
