plus she comes in and helps odysseus and others along the way. not unlike krishna and arjuna. but check that cool marbled serenity. no wonder the greeks were so fond of her.

not so many demons in greece, though there are the furies. but that's why the kali-story makes sense, it's about the danger of *rage in combat.* kali gets sucked in and winds up ingesting the poison of the demons and this makes her go wild. it's an allegory of course, but it's also about the desire to fix things and the problems of intervention. demon rage contaminates and pollutes.

maybe this is why athena just directs in the right way, or intervenes as a last resort, with judgment. being wise and all.

but durga/kali/shiva has some interesting stuff going on. fwiw.
