The first and foremost reason to get into Gor is for the maledom/femsub fetish. I do like the series for that, but I'll admit that it's otherwise just a mediocre science fantasy sword and sorcery romp at best. It won't blow your mind with its prose or its plots or world building or whatever, but it has it's place as one of the few fantasy series going completely against the contemporary trend of female empowerment.
