I have two suggestions for you if you're stuck on Plotinus.

1. The Essential Plotinus - Short selection of the Enneads with commentary, very useful for getting a broad picture of his philosophy.

2. Plotinus, The Road to Reality - Very good explanation of Plotinus' philosophy in relatively understandable terms.

Also "The architecture of the intelligible universe according to Plotinus" is a very short, but handy resource to have that explains the three primary hypostases of intelligible reality.
