Bayne's Climb was a fun little adventure and it is the first of a (short) trilogy if you like it enough to continue.
Cradle is enjoyable and lots of theories to speculate upon.
The Ascension trilogy is fairly short and written well for what it is--minuscule and nonintrusive romance as well.

I have three chapters left in City of Light and I am already upset this ending clearly won't be conclusive. I almost want to pick up on where I dropped Malazan because you fucks don't stop talking about it but I don't want to start reading books 3-4 times longer on average than what I am already reading, plus I've forgotten a lot of what happened in the first four books.
I am aiming for 60 books read this year. I went for 50 last year and ended up with 65, although goodreads counts short stories and so on.
Thanks for reading my blog I have no one else!!

The Mistborn books that come after the first three have a circa 1900 tech level. It has rifles, though the main character also uses revolvers and shotguns. Try reading a few chapters of The Alloy of Law. The tech level advances somewhat during these books.

Mistborn is rife with worldbuilding though.

Is it a thing now to outright lie and claim a story doesn't have a thing it does have? The /v/ crossboarding is ridiculous.

Yeah Marasi. She's still present and still retains her ideology which is idiotic but I believe she receives more of a reality check, in a way. She's more useful too.

Some people on Sanderson's 'official' forum dislike Wayne because he's too "mean" and "vulgar". Essentially, normalfag-reasoning.

I probably wouldn't get around to reading it for a long time but as I just now finished reading Virtue's Last Reward, are there any strong and hard mindfuck books or series on the same tier? I honestly don't think I'll ever find something that fucked me harder than ever17 but I'll never stop looking. I don't even know if it is possible with book format.

Yeah, I looked it up on Coppermind and it was during a SoS signing. No reason for it to be suspicious although I didn't bother to look for the context of the reveal yet, if it was anything other than a standard question/answer.

Ashyn was an accidental reveal.

I finished it last month and greatly enjoyed it. Evidently Reynolds has said that he wants to go back to that universe someday so we could theoretically get a sequel or something. It's not like it would be completely unfounded.

I've read every RS story except for Monkey Suit, Chasm City, the new short story Last Log of the Lacrimosa, and one other I'm forgetting.

>>6889051
I don't know what people consider "entry-level" then. RS got me into hard sci-fi so RS is subjectively entry-level for myself.

Speaking of sci-fant, what are some good series for someone who is just getting into hard sci-fi novels? I've recently read most the books and novellas and such in the Revelation Space universe, and Pushing Ice, by the same author, and all of this absolutely tickles me. I should ask what Clarke's essential stories are too, as I haven't touched anything of his yet but Clarke's Third Law is my favorite concept of anything and I really dig its rare presence in vidya.
