This board is a bulwark against the rapid degeneration of aesthetic sense in modern society. This is the only place left in the digital age where meaningful literary discourse can occur, except for (maybe) certain college campuses.

Accordingly, be sure to encourage literacy instead of stifling it. Somebody hasn't read Pynchon's entire oeuvre? Instead of calling them a retarded faggot woman, maybe argue why they should (or should not). Someone hasn't read the Bibble? Recommend your favorite chapter or verse. Someone can't articulate why they liked the latest Murakami book? Ask a follow up question or two.

This board is the best place for literary discussion on the internet, and probably the planet. Let's keep it that way. Challenge one another, but do so with positive and constructive intentions.

Love,

Bill Murray

Are there books or philosophies about being heartless, emotionless or just letting go of all emotions?
Biographies or literature about heartless individuals I can learn from would be good too.
I'm just so sick and tired of emotions holding me back.
Not trying to being edgy or sociopath/psychopath.
Have any of you found a way out of this prison of over sensitivity ? HOW!?
