In my opinion the most important aspect of fiction, including fantasy and sci-fi, is the human element. Once you get past the gods and armies, the Iliad is ultimately a story about a man who is scared to die. The Odyssey is about a man trying to reunite with his wife. I feel like modern fantasy and sci-fi are too preoccupied with worldbuilding and giant battles to remember this. Does anyone agree or disagree?
