I love Kafka, have read almost everything by him

A more recent favorite for me is this guy. Loved Light Years, Solo Faces, and his memoir, Burning the Days. Great prose stylist and writes in a masculine voice.

Have read a few books by this nigga. Dusk and Other Stories, Burning the Days, All That Is, and Light Years. Haven't gotten to the famous erotic novel, A Sport and A Pastime yet. I liked them all but was most impressed with Burning the Days. Man this dude could write beautifully. Short stories were kind of a miss except I thought the title story, "Dusk" and "Twenty Minutes" were brilliantly written, like the Russians (specifically Babel and Turgenev) or the best Hemingway short stories.

He's one of the best writers I know of in the recent era (last book in 2013, died in 2014) who went less pomo and more with classic realism. Any other fans of his around here?
