Yeah, I know they're watching the movie but there's no equivalent video of reading the books.

We all know Tolkein is far from highbrow, but again, it's an example. It's imaginative and speaks to deep themes that interest a majority of boys and a minority of women.

If it doesn't involve themselves or personal relationships, they have zero interest. Yes, I know you know that one autistic girl who's different. My point is if she has a traditionally feminine brain, she ain't interested in any lit that's not focused on relationships (preferably with an obvious self-insert)
