I think the best life we could possibly have is to create a sort of Amish zoo-planet that is protected from both external and interal threats by a benevolent AI. Millions of years of milking cows, feeding chickens, and plowing fields, and hooks, not buttons, all for the glory of God. And when the Earth nears its inevitable end, the AI would spread the remaining Amish out on arks to new planets that it had already readied for colonization and further spread of Pennsylvania Dutch pioneers. Think about it. No more war, because we are pacifists. No more hunger, for wheat and meat will be plenty. No more vices, for we live a life of clean and orderly celebration, the old way. Imagine a universe, as far as a telescope can see, filled with an Amish Paradise.
