Which book provides the best argument for socialism? I don't understand half the shit in the original works, so preferably secondary literature.

If you’re born poor, there is no good reason to keep living. Life for anyone who isn’t rich in the post-God world is nothing but incessant struggle without any purpose. You can’t even enjoy the journey towards nothingness because you’re too concerned with survival. You’re deprived of the great sensory pleasures derived from travelling the world with no concerns or living in a highly comfortable house to temporarily fill the void. All you have is sex, and if you’re unattractive, then you have nothing. Intellectual pursuits may fill your time if you’re a NEET who lives with your poor parents, but only for some time until life becomes unbearable again

>The book clearly got an emotional reaction
I am currently in the process of watching the film, its a very depressing book, and the bland and tedious nature of it, and this film, I believe to be intentional by the author to show the dull and boring nature of life, which is fueled by our obsession with sex.

“I've lived so little that I tend to imagine I'm not going to die; it seems improbable
that human existence can be reduced to so little; one imagines, in spite of oneself,
that sooner or later something is bound to happen. A big mistake. A life can just as
well be both empty and short. The days slip by indifferently, leaving neither trace nor
memory; and then all of a sudden they stop.”
