This one is bretty good. You can also try meditation apps like headspace, which work great because they guide you while you actually attempt to meditate.

What self help books are actually good?

I'll start, the mind illuminated is a gem, a very detailed meditation guide.

Probably the most comprehensive and detailed meditation guide I stumbled upon.

>there's this girl i kinda have a crush on
>she likes pretty much the same things i do
>we talk a little bit every day (same class)
>when i am alone, i think of things to say to her
>almost every tought i have is an imaginary conversation with her
>we stop seeing each other
>i keep imaginating us talking, because its just the way i am used to think now

>almost ten years passed
>years since i have seen her the last time (5 or 6 years)
>i still think about her, but not exactly her (since its almost like i dont even know her anymore), just a version of her that my mind created. Just like an imaginary friend that looks like her
>i cant stop it

Will meditation help me out with this? Is this book a good start on the subject?
Do we have any meditators that can share their experiences?

Is pic related a good starter on the philosophy behind meditation? I want to train myself to meditate. Tried apps and the positive reinforcement bullshit seems superficial and normie-tier. Instead of just nose-diving into it, I want to understand the philosophy behind meditation.
The world is built on so many distractions and instant gratifications. I'm a social retard and I suffer social anxieties even on the smallest things (I can't make eye contact with the camera during a zoom call, even more so irl) and I beat myself over it. Every time I suffer these anxieties, I'm wasting a lot of energy, concentration and time that I would rather spend on more productive stuff. I want to train my brain to selectively focus both mentally and socially.
Some anons have posted /lit/charts on meditation before. Hoping to get recs from anons who've taken up meditation on the daily.

Study Buddhism, but it would be good to read some secular mindfulness and meditation manuals alongside the religious stuff. Your way of talking about this is a bit strange. It's good to stay in touch with the most simple and pragmatic aspects of the teachings and not wig out on religious/sectarian niceties before you have any idea what you're doing.
