it seems like the absolute majority of fruitless debates/discussions about capitalism/socialism/whatever are fruitless because the people arguing have different definitions and ideas of these words in their heads and don't even realise it, nor do they try to define these words or ask for a definition. in fact most fruitless discussions are fruitless because of this. people don't go in the mindset of wishing to learn to better their understanding, they just want to dunk on the other person to feel better about themselves.

a setting that helps the narrative is more fun to read than speculation on what future technology will be, ironically focusing on the technology too much will make a book feel dated after few decades.

The thing you have to consider is, with all said advanced technology and resources, how hard would it be exactly for these entities to completely shut down all avenues of information. Why would they allow videos to be viewed publicly on Youtube that would explain what they're doing? There's tons of articles/videos about Artificial Intelligence and weapons, but they aren't hard to reach on the internet for a common person. I find it hard to believe that they're unable or unwilling to completely blackout any information in regards to their machinations. What entity releases pages about a mind control program that they themselves ran? I keep coming to the thought that all available information sources are intentional on their behalf in order to mislead and misdirect. Mislead from what, I couldn't say.

I've been going through the shit you're talking about, but I've become cautious in dealing in absolutes, despite overwhelming shows of power and evidence that would leave very little room for doubt.

I have one year to pass an ethics exam. A judge, a prosecutor a psychologist and a philosophy professor will test me.

It is pretty basic, I talk about myself and my role models, what I do in my free time and so on. After that they ll try to find inconsistencies in my answears to see if I am sincere or not. Then they will give a quote/saying about law or morality to analyze and an ethics problem.

What books should I read to prepare for such a task? I don't think I have enough time to read the greeks and go through it all since this is just one of the exams.
