"There's nothing new under the sun" may have rang true to some isolated old desert Jew without a proper sense of history than hadn't seen any interesting changes in his short lifetime and couldn't remember his dad telling of them either, but to take on such an attitude in an age where you're constantly aware of the glorious feverish movement towards the unknown is just unwarranted cynicism.
