if someone posts anything written by Hegel for this they are sorely mistaken and should close their browser and pick up the Phenomenology

Hegel has already thoroughly demonstrated that Romanticism is sorely lacking as a conduit of philosophical cognition and reformation to satisfy his critique
only serves to compromise the key fixities of the Romanticist standpoint.

The Romantic is dead (resurrected and killed once more &c.); bury it. Consider this mercy.

reminder that Hegel sincerely thought the layperson with a basic education could grasp his books.

i'm not fun at parties

i have had people both in public and private life comment on my laboriousness of speech, pedantry, the fact most are uninterested in what i want to talk about and general 'boringness'.
it is somewhat regrettable but i do not think it is a big problem

the phenomenology is a preface or prelude to actual philosophy, but to give a summary of aims and results will not give you the sufficient grounds to actually cognize the exposition

Hegel is trying to prove the Subjectivity of Aristotelian-Spinozist Substance: the start of Science crowning Spirit arrives only at the moment when God's infinity foams forth in a play of love with itself

good introductions can be found in Frederic Beiser's work on German Idealism, notably his books "German Idealsim" and "Hegel" and especially in H. S. Harris' "Hegel's Ladder Vol. 1/2"
familiarity with Kant and Aristotle are helpful, but the phenomenology was written for high-school students so you should be able to tackle it on its own terms

Frederick Beiser, German Idealism: The Struggle Against Subjectivism 1781 - 1801.

Also, if you are going to look into German Idealism, Fichte and Schelling are critically underappreciated.
