Almost every speculative fiction subgenre has been dominated by books; for example, the most well-known, most influential work of fantasy is LOTR, which is a book; the most influential works of sci-fi have been books, from Foundation to the Robot series to 2001: A Space Odyssey (yes, that was written alongside the movie but still) to Dune; the horror genre has had less of a hold but still has absolute titans like Lovecraft and King; the urban fantasy/dystopia's most influential works are all books, from We and 1984 to Twilight and The Hunger Games. The only subgenre whose greatest/most influential works aren't books is really post-apocalyptic; you have A Canticle for Leibowitz, Roadside Picnic, World War Z, and The Road, alongside other works like Metro 2033 (which doesn't really count because it started out as a video game), but the most well-known works of post-apocalyptic media are all comic books (The Walking Dead), movies or TV shows (Mad Max, A Boy and His Dog, Children of Men, also The Walking Dead, etc) or video games (Fallout, The Last of Us, also the Walking Dead). Why is this? Is the post-apocalyptic genre just better suited for visual media?

Thoughts on McCarthy’s The Road?

Of McCarthy I’ve only read this and Blood Meridian. I think BM his the stronger work /lit wise, but I liked The Road more for pleasure reading. To me the road stands as an ultimate justification of faith. To keep persevering and not to give into despair even in the face of impossible odds. I just found it to be a very comforting book. Sometimes when I’m really stressed or worried, I find myself repeating the Father’s words in my head to myself.

>it’s alright. I know. It’s okay, everything will be alright.

What are your thoughts?

I was asked from a fellow I had knew by ways of a mutual friendship that if I ever considered doing voice work, as he works for an audio engineering company, he said he liked the cadence and tone of my voice, and would be well-suited for audio books. I thought I'd get a second opinion.

Should I lend out my voice bros? - https://voca.ro/jxl7yAmY4cL
