I've outlined my takedown blogpost on Show vs tell since yesterday, hopefully have it up by end of week. It's incredible how bad the current articles I could find on it are and I must save the next generation of noob authors.

This conversation between you two embodies everything wrong with "show don't tell" midwittery. Showing us not "more artful" and Telling is not a sign of bad writing - both are tools to be used consistently at the paragraph level. Both terms are vague in their description too because they apply to film and have been awkwaedly retrofitted onto writing as a whole by the accursed midwit.

Instead of saying "show more" try saying "I needed more sensory experiences here" or "I needed better concrete/specific visualization to give the character/scene flavor"

And if the pace is slowing down maybe say "you should 'tell more here' and just give us a quick summary of this irrelevance and move on".
