There's cuckoldry is quite a few classical Western works, to varying degrees. For example, The Red and the Black, Orlando Furioso, The Iliad, The Brothers Karamazov, The Count of Monte Cristo.
Cuckoldry as an abstract concept seems almost an inevitability in a lot of writing. War of the Worlds? Planet cuckoldry. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch? Cuckoldry. The Tartar Steppe? Life cuckoldry. The Metamorphosis of Apuleius? Wife fucked by prettyboy (honestly a based episode, read The Golden Ass if you haven't already). The protagonist is cucked by his femboy bf in The Satyricon (also essential for fans of Roman /lit/ but if you're a fan of Roman /lit/ I'm sure you've already read it). Even a homo like Mishima included cuckoldry in Life for Sale, though he was probably a little more distanced than a heterosexual author would've been. I can't recall if Vonnegut described any direct cuckoldry but his attitude towards women definitely extends to the domain of metaphorical cuckoldry (typified by Bluebeard). There's some notable metaphorical cuckoldry in Hentry James' The Figure in the Carpet and the The Aspern Papers.
I could go on forever. There are works that don't feature cuckoldry but they're usually by embodiments of Masculine Autism, like sci-fi novelists. Philosophers write non-fiction in large part because of their autism-prevalence, which directs their attention away from the outer world and towards the structure of the interior, making cuckoldry impossible.
While we're here why don't I ask: why is there so much cuckoldry in Calvino? I noticed this while reading If On a Winter Night a Traveller and again in his Cosmicomics; almost all the episodes in these works has either literal cuckoldry or a metaphorical cuckoldry as in a woman ignoring the protagonist in favour of [passion] for [subject/thing].
Ironically as a ntr-appreciator I know of nil good erotic fiction. I'll need start reading the Arabian Nights if it's as based as people here are making it out to be. Yes I'm ashamed but not very.
