Debate me on this /lit/. It's philosophical.

I've come to the conclusion that being a pedophile alone does not warrant the hate and stigma that society has placed on it. While I don't believe in the idea of a completely deterministic world (for that just retardedly eliminates any sense of self responsiblity for your actions), it's safe without a doubt to say that there are deterministic elements that are forced by life. You couldn't choose to be male, female, black, white, German, Samoan, born in the medieval times, born in the year 3030. You couldn't choose the tastes which you acquired-- not directly, at least. You couldn't choose to like hot dogs more than hamburgers, or you couldn't choose to like red more than you like blue, or you couldn't choose to be gay instead of straight. Thus, it seems clear to me that a pedophile couldn't choose to not be attracted to minors.

As much as social media homosexuals hate the comparison with every fiber of their body, being a pedophile IS comparable to sexual orientation. They can call it whatever they want, but fundamentally they are a sexual preference-- just that one is more broad than the other. It seems to me illogical that one would hate another merely for an appetitive desire they literally had no choice in developing. It's not as if one day someone says "I have decided to obtain the most hated sexual preference in the world by society and be part of the most stigmatized social outcasts in modernity. That's exactly what I want".

The hatred should instead be redirected at a different group-- child molesters. They are the ones that exploit minors and ruin their lives for a few moments of their carnal pleasure. For not all pedophiles are child molestors, nor are all child molestors pedophiles. For instance, drunkards and druggies can exploit children for shits and giggles, or members of degenerate cultures can abuse children and appeal to religion or tradition rather than strict pedophilia (in instances of corrective rape, for instance).

Pedophiles couldn't choose to be attracted to kids. Therefore, they cannot be held accountable for that, otherwise it would be unfair prejudice. They can, however, be held accountable for their actions-- and that's the difference between pedophiles and child molestors. Those that disregard little children for own pleasure are genuinely evil and deserve suffering. To have the desire alone, however, shouldn't. Pedophilia should NOT be normalized or allowed be 'accepted' in the same manner that gay pride has been allowed. It should simply be tolerated to the extent that it doesn't warrant hate to those who have been infected by it. It shouldn't be paraded. It shouldn't be legalized. It shouldn't be advocated.

Change my mind.

Actually and unironically. The first adult book I ever read.
