Here you go. It's been said it's the best biography of the prophet. It's written by an Englishman who converted to Islam after coming into contact with works of Rene Guenon and Frithjof Schuon and was an actual disciple of Schuon.

The most popular biography of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was written by a Perennialist. He also authored "The Underlying Religion: An Introduction to the Perennial Philosophy".

Muslims, we must be VERY careful when reading English Islamic literature. Western Islamic thought has been conquered by these Sufi wizards who are trying to promote an esoteric, blasphemous version of Islam to secular Westerners.

I think though that what you're really after is during the lifetime of Muhammad(saas) from the migration to Medina onwards through the 4 caliphs and up to the Ummayads. There is vast libraries available on these subjects, I would suggest you go down to your local mosque and/or Islamic bookstore and they will help you better. You want books on the history of Islam from the time of the hijra until the ummayads.
