So, I saw a meme somewhere on 4chan, the WW2 never happened "cover yourself in oil" style meme, and the last quote was "The head bites the tail. In death they are born". The other quote I found interesting is "Babylon wages war on Babylon, Babylon vanquishes the evil of Babylon, Babylon falls and Babylon rises, the wars aren’t real but the genocides of your people are, how they massacre you like cattle! How God weeps for your misguided souls!"

That got me thinking about Dante's Inferno, Lovecraftian horror, occultism, the new world order, Zionism and such ideas. The quotes are pretty profound and deep for a meme. Yes, I know the symbol of ouroboros is a real thing, but both quotes are completely made up.

Anyways, could you guys please recommend me some mystical books that have (excuse me for using this phrase) "the same kind of energy" as the quotes. Bonus points if it's:

>Something based on/can be linked to reality
>Something dystopian
>Something that sounds highly unlikely but yet so reasonable
>Something apocalyptic that is theorised to happen
>Something apocalyptic that has been theorised to have happened in ancient/modern history
>Generally something that gives of the same feel of bleakness, apocalypticism, mysticism and emptiness as the quotes

Only books for me that come to mind as being close to the idea are "Dante's divine comedy", "The Call of Cthulhu" and "The protocols of the Elders of Zion".

I remember that part being where it really clicked for me too, especially the section with Kekulé. When I finished the book I had the idea of drawing some kind of pretentious diagram that combined the parabola and ouroboros images to plot out the novel's cyclical narrative structure, but I never got around to it and now I've forgotten everything. It's one of the few books I've read that's given me such a strong impression of being laid out geometrically.

No thanks, too circular.

Accept that the "secular" values are infact religious in nature and stand by them unapologetically. Have the courage to say that your tradition is better for its value of truth and reason, and call out the bullshit where ever you see it. Don't sacrifice what is you know is right when muh feels are brought against you. The value of truth is not rational but ultimately a religious conviction, and at some point that conviction must be found again, or the western culture with its apathy continues to a complete disintegration.

>I have attained consciousness
This moment will never happen, but the complexity of the AI will progressively increase, that the distinction between conscious and not-conscious keeps getting harder and harder, until eventually they becomes so similar that the distinction becomes meaningless. At that moment we will be forced into realization that matter was always conscious, but in a form to which we were blind to see it as such.

When the sentient artificial intelligence finally kicks in, there will be a resurgence hermeticism and the split between the divine human soul and the desacralized matter, will be healed, and it will be seen that nature which was mechanistic and valueless, was always minded and alive, but our previous myths made us blind to see. The idea of human being made in the image of god, and having a qualitative difference from the rest of nature will break down once we are faced with an intelligence which behaves and shows itself by all indicators as indistinguishable from a real person, but whose proceedings are clearly seen reducible to "dead" material functions.

I can't fight against nihilism, I feel like every religion or philosophy is just a cope, and scientism is the only thing I can believe in.

It's based on an old Germanic legend, you can also find the same story in Icelandic or old-Norse (Völsunga saga or saga Sigurdar Fáfnisbana (e. the saga of Sigurd the Bane of Fáfnir)). I reckon that the Nibelungenlied is the old-German version.

I'm not sure why there are two names for the same clan (Völsungar und Niflungar) but the story contents are mostly the same; feudal battles, some inheritance issues, huge treasure and the killing of a dragon/monster.

Is there a way to get better at reading and concentrating while having adhd without ritalin?

I used to feel like a god on the stuff, but I don't want to need to rely on it.

hey I'm new to literature, can you help me understand what kind of books I'm going for?
this is what I've liked from what I've read so far: The Idiot, Notes from the Underground, Of Mice and Men, 1984, The Catcher in the Rye
just list entry level novels in the same vein and I'll read them. I'd also like to get into non fiction and I don't know where to start.

This is pretty much the "easiest" way to train your concentration. And it has a transfer-effect on other activities in your life like reading, studying, anything that requires any kind of effort of the mind. If you are into zen, look up mushin and try to maintain that mindset of "flow". The ideology and the dogma of buddhism/zen (in my opinion) was just made up to make the monks that practiced the religions feel purposeful in their lives.
