Any recommendations. I did the Harry Potter series and it made the unreadable books actually listenable.
I tried Scott Brick books and felt like I wanted to kill myself.
Richard Dawkins is another good reader.

Are audiobooks for plebs? I audiobook sometimes but question the inflection choices of the narrator and think I would prefer to have read the work myself.

Are audio books better than real books?

Does /lit/ know which books have translated to audio book format well? I am about to start an hour long commute and i want to make the time useful by listening to audio books. I assume some books translate better to spoken form than others and i need help finding out which ones.

What is your opinion on audiobooks? Useful? Useless? Can't communicate real intricacies of text?

So far I am using audiobooks to listen to non-ficition because it can take me several weeks to read just one book. I am slow reads. But i am standoffish towards audio 'reading' fiction because i feel i might not 'get' the flavour of it, and might miss quotes that blow my mind. Ideas? thoughts?
