>read a philosophical book for the 1st time trying to understand it on your own
>read some works in context of said book f.e. for Kant that'd be Baumgarten's Metaphysics
>read the book for the 2nd time, try to see how the new knowledge weighs on your interpretation of the book
>read secondary sources, guides and companions to the book
>read the book for the 3rd time, try and see if your interpretation has support in academic sources and if you've missed some points
Does anyone else do that? Is this the optimal way to read a philosophical text?
