I’m in a dreamy and mystical mood. Please recommend something that looks like a Silent Hill vibe (more mystery, perhaps even hints of esoterics, more weird fantasy, less horror and survival). I made a thread like this once, Ligotti and Kubin were very good.

This one is about a man and his wife who are invited to join a utopian city project somewhere in mongolia/china/tibet. The first half is spooky city exploration (skies are always dark/overcast, people behaving weirdly, lots of unexplained mysteries especially regarding the city founder). The second half is about the destruction of the city and gets surprisingly violent and fucked up, especially for a book this old

One of my personal favorites, seems pretty unknown and underrated even with fans of this kind of literature
