Based Soomer here.

I'm learning Sumerian through comprehensible inpoot with the Epic of Gilgamesh Coloring Book, 5th edition. I threw out my outdated Edwardian grammar books that my professor recommended assigned me. You don't need to know what a "present tense" is too learn a 5 thousand year old language. They invented tenses in the 1800's. I'm using this new thing called "spaced repetition" you may have heard of before. I've seen many YouTube videos of people who have learned Japanese in only 2 weeks using this amazing new program called "Anki". I'm also going to learn cunieform through inferring meaning as well. Using English to learn the phonology of the writing system is not real acquisition. If I read an English explanation, then I'm not *learning the language*, I'm just learning *about the language*. What my lord and savior Stephen Krashen said about learning Spanish applies to every language, included Sumerian.
