I'm looking for literature with the same themes as Bruce Springsteen's lyrics, specifically his early stuff in the 70's. I really love the narratives of songs like Jungleland and It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City, singing about young men/teens and their struggles with who and what they want to be. Songs like Rosalita singing about young and forbidden love.
I imagine some of you are gonna think this sort of stuff is 'juvenile,' but I don't care, it's what I'm in the mood for currently and it's what I want to read about. So give me all the book recs you got about runaways, greasers, rockers, young lovers and all the other characters who inhabit Springsteen's Junglelands.
