There is plenty of secondary literature but I'd rather read his works.

Not currently except cigarettes and coffee. Haven't for about a year now.

Have done weed, alcohol, coke, acid, dmt, and an assortment of pills.

I don't anymore because it became boring. The people I did it with eventually became boring and petty, and the drugs themselves were at their best just a nice relief for a few hours or something like that. Not to mention the drama that comes with dealing, dealing with other dealers, OD, etc. It becomes pretty depressing once you've been doing it for years and you realize that the friends you started doing shit with, and who were stupid, never got any better and just got left behind by everyone else. Go to an AA or NA meeting and you'll see what I mean. You forget that there are those people in other little cliques that you just don't see anymore and years later they are still at. Plus when you're family is in it. You see the negative side pretty quickly.

Of course they are. Should I or should I not do x? Should x be legal or illegal to use, produce, and sell?

How are people taking this seriously? It's just a joke, and even if he thought that this was some serious criticism we don't have to.

Why even bother with someone who thinks philosophy is worthless? They are making an argument that discredits the very thing which allows them to make arguments.

>I don't really like the short fiction I've read by him but I just finished IJ and it's one of my favorite books now.

What exactly is the difference between the two? I know this is a vague as hell question but I know nothing substantial about IJ so I don't know what to ask about specifically.

Is there a lot of postmodern/meta-x/mental-trickery going on in the work? So much of what I've read by him is just that, and it's so fucking bad. It's not clever or refreshing, it's just plain stupid.
