2033 is unironically a really great book. I'm surprised it never took off in the fantasy genre.

2034 is a bit different as it doesn't follow a single character like the first. Some people don't like it because of that, but it's still very good and as great as the first one in my opinion .

I haven't read 3035 yet, but I have high hopes for it concidering the last two.

Also play all the games and if you're still feeling like you want to larp as a Russian in a desperate situation, read Roadside Picnic. It inspired Stalker 1979 (the movie) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R (the games)

The movie is very arthouse. So expect a very VERY slow movie. It took me two sittings to finish it, but I still it thought it was alright. But aesthetically and cinematically it's superb. Alternatively, the movie Come and See is much more watchable in one sitting and is perhaps what you are looking for. It's also personally one of my favorite movies.

The game are all very jank, but near perfect in its setting. The first game is worth playing (but it requires some modding) as well as the second if you like the first. But the third is the weird one and can skip.

If you still want even more Slavic adventures, I reccomend the game Darkwood. Personally, it's my favorite Eastern-European game, just behind Pathologic 2. Both of which are more philosophical if that's your thing.
