I feel bad for social conservatives sometimes because they'll say, look, there's some real pushback happening to liberalism from Putin because he doesn't like gay marriage. You know else didn't support gay marriage when he got elected? This guy.

It's like... these are the stakes you're fighting for? Some drag queens? I'm not saying you have to like that stuff, but the horizon of purpose or meaning or what constitutes "politics" here is pretty narrow. And at least in domestic U.S. politics, I think the Republicans get into this trap where they bang the drum about a boutique issue which is gravely concerning to them but not the majority of people, so it ends up being that it's the conservatives who are blasting people with images of drag queens 24/7 and shouting "LOOK! LOOK AT THEM! LOOK AT THE DRAG QUEENS! HOW GROSS, RIGHT???" when most people would only encounter them if they actually went to a gay bar for Friday Night Divas.

I don't understand it.

8 years of Obama lowered our value system. Liberal artists stopped trying to aspire to greater things, and instead celebrate their mediocrity.
