I dated a girl in last two years of highschool and it turned out she was fucking my "friends" on the side. Sounds trivial maybe, but I've never recovered. In the decade since then, I sabotaged every short-lived friendship with men and turned down every opportunity with women. Sometimes I stare at wall for minutes, recalling the betrayal and my stupidity.

By discovering it all happened due to my compulsive lying. I was not aware I lied at all, imagine compulsively. Then I wrote my book about a self-insert finding eudaimonia after realizing all his suffering was caused by lying.

Didn't stop lying, though. The realization I was a liar was enough to ease my pain.
