Pic related. It's an autobiographical work by a black pimp who came up in the 1940s. It's actually a good book, nicely written, gives entrance in an otherwise relatively obscure part of culture, time and history and with Slim being smart as fuck you also get some insight into controlling whores and the psychology behind it.

He was also a major influence in hip hop culture.

This is actually not a bad idea. Iceberg Slim's Pimp is the most profound exploration of female psychology ever put forth in fiction.

If you want to learn about women, it makes sense to learn from someone who makes his living of getting women to do exactly as he tells them.

I read pic related while I was in county jail some 10 years ago. It was just about the craziest shit I've ever read. I just finished re-reading it and well... It's still just about the craziest shit I've ever read. Any of you read this wonderful little novel? What did you think? This is the cover of the version I read in the can. A big black guy gave it to me when I asked if anyone had anything to read. He never said a word to me.
