>Meanwhile people in the real economy, mechanics and welders, they make more money than humanities professors make. They also own boats, at least where I'm from. Self employed tradies are millionaires

This is a meme. The trade job field is controlled by degenerate cost cutting Boomers who absolutely refuse to pay for anyone's training and will rather have a nepotism hire over some guy who got his certs and went to school but let's say you did get lucky and managed to get hired by one. You WILL BE REQUIED to have your own tools (don't let the /pol/tards tell you otherwise) to then do bottom of the barrel grunt work at job site for 2-5 years until you manage to sweet talk the supervisors into liking you so you can move up but then unfortunately your body will be shot from all the back breaking labor work. You will also be working with former convicts and burnouts literally getting drunk and or high during shifts which will influence you to do the same if you aren't already wrecking your heart with your 3rd can of Monster that afternoon.

But good news you managed to make it out and now you started your own small business but guess what. You're now in competition with these boomers and especially our current government that is hell bent against small businesses.
