Hello c/lit/s
I'm currently reading Atomic Habits, and one of the habits I plan to pick up is keeping a journal, so that I can record who I am and reflect on that and hopefully make some changes on myself.

In the past, I tried it but failed not knowing how to write one, although I'm a published novelist and a translator. So I assume it's a skill I need to pick up.

I found these:
>Tristine Rainer - New Diary_ How to Use a Journal for Self-guidance and Expanded Creativity (1980, Angus & Robertson (UK))
>Stephanie Dowrick - Creative Journal Writing_ The Art and Heart of Reflection (2009, Tarcher)

Is there any other guides you made use of? Any tips? Preferably book recommendations. (I plan to keep it on paper so as to be away from the computer)

Is there any literature on how to become an ascetic in the modern day? I want to get to the point where the only thing I am doing is reading, writing, and going outside. Nothing else.

Looking for books that will help me to believe in (the Christian) God.

I've been reading Alasdair MacIntyre, and I'm completely convinced about the truth of virtue ethics and natural law. I also already find the idea of God intellectually convincing, so I'm not really looking for theology to convince me of His existence.

What I'm looking for is more along the lines of poetic, mystical, or literary writings on the subject to help me wrap my head around what it's really *like* for fervent believers to believe in God. Doesn't have to be fictional but novels etc. are welcome.

At the moment I just feel stupid when I try to pray, or think about God in a non-intellectual way. I feel like I'm faking it basically.

Also, anyone had a similar experience? Is this feeling of insincerity something that's normal at first that fades away?
